By hiring Maarif Alawi (“I”, “me”) or using this site, you agree to these terms. Plain English. No gotchas. Just the rules that keep projects smooth and fair on both sides.
1) Scope & What “Done” Means
Before work starts, we agree on a written scope (deliverables, timeline, and price). This can live in a proposal, email, or shared board.
Anything outside the agreed scope becomes a Change Request. I’ll quote it first, you approve it, then I build it. No surprise invoices.
2) Pricing & Payments
Default payment terms are 50% upfront, 50% before final handoff (unless we agree to milestones in writing).
Project work: invoiced per scope.
Maintenance retainer (if applicable): billed monthly in advance.
Late payments: if payment is overdue by 7+ days, timelines may pause until settled.
Payment methods: bank transfer (IDR), and Wise for international (if needed).
Access to final deliverables, production credentials, and handoff materials are provided after the final payment clears.
3) Revisions (Refine, Don’t Restart)
Revisions are for improving what we agreed to build, not changing the entire direction mid-stream.
Unless specified otherwise, projects include 2 revision rounds per major phase. If feedback changes scope significantly after approval, I’ll propose a Change Request with pricing before continuing.
4) Timeline, Feedback, and “Silence Pauses”
I ship fast, but timelines depend on timely inputs: assets, access, approvals, and feedback.
If feedback/assets are delayed, the schedule shifts accordingly.
If there’s no response for 14+ days, the project is paused.
Restarting after a long pause may require rescheduling and a rebooking fee (only if my calendar slot is gone).
5) Ownership & Handoff
Once final payment is received, you own the final deliverables covered in scope (design files, code, documentation, and assets I created for your project).
Handoff typically includes: credentials/access, deployment notes, and basic “how to maintain it” guidance (as appropriate to scope).
6) Third-Party Services (Tools, Hosting, Subscriptions)
If your project uses third-party services (hosting, domains, plugins, paid APIs, analytics, email tools, etc.), you are responsible for their fees and terms.
I’m not liable for outages, price changes, policy changes, or limitations from third-party services.
7) Maintenance & Support
Unless stated otherwise in writing:
Post-launch support: included for 7 days (bug fixes related to the shipped scope).
Ongoing work after that moves into a Maintenance Retainer or a new scoped project.
Maintenance does not include unlimited new features. It covers stability, fixes, upgrades, and agreed improvements.
8) Communication & Working Style
Most work runs async to keep things efficient. Primary channels: email, WhatsApp, and a shared board/docs if needed.
Response time: typically 24–48 hours on weekdays (WIB, Jakarta time), unless we agree on a faster SLA in writing.
9) Cancellation & Project Pauses
You can cancel anytime. You’ll be invoiced for work completed up to that point (based on documented progress).
If a project is paused for 21+ days without prior agreement, I may need to reschedule it based on availability. A restart fee may apply if significant re-onboarding is required.
10) Confidentiality (NDA-Friendly)
What you share with me stays private: product details, docs, credentials, strategy, and internal information.
If you want a mutual NDA, I’m open to signing one before we start.
11) Portfolio & Public Sharing
I may showcase non-confidential work (screenshots, short clips, or a case study) only if it’s safe to share.
If your project is sensitive (stealth, pre-launch, internal-only), tell me upfront and I will keep it private. Written requests to keep work private are always respected.
12) Liability (Common-Sense Version)
I’ll deliver work professionally and in good faith, aligned to the agreed scope.
I’m not responsible for indirect damages, lost revenue, or issues caused by third-party services, later edits by others, or usage beyond my control.
13) Updates to These Terms
These terms may be updated occasionally. The latest version will live on this page. Active projects will follow the terms agreed at project start, unless both sides agree to changes in writing.
